Mum:
A collection of paintings and illustrations
made about her diagnosis,
personal fight, and death.
When my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I began creating drawings whenever my emotions were overwhelming.
I continued using art as a coping mechanism throughout the six years she was diagnosed "terminal" and following her death in February of 2014.
I would like to turn these drawings and paintings into a cohesive collection. In addition to the image, I would like to write an encompanying explanation of the piece. It is my hopes that it would reach out to those who are experiencing the gradual death of a loved one.
I am committed to working on this project consistently, both for the good of others and for the healing of my own soul. I would like to eventually present the series in an exhibition or visual book foarmat.
